Enrolling at Appleby School

It is useful for the school to know well in advance any expected enrolments.

Starting School is a comprehensive pre-school transition programme for 4 year olds.

NEW ENTRANT OUT OF ZONE ENROLMENT APPLICATIONS FOR TERMS 3 & 4 2026

The Appleby School Board of Trustees invites applications from parents who live outside the school’s enrolment zone and who wish to enrol their children at Appleby School in New Entrants/Year 0, starting school between 20th July and 15th December 2026.

The Board has determined that 12 places are available in New Entrants/Year 0 for out of zone students for Terms 3 and 4. 

Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available on our website: www.appleby.school.nz

Families who wish to apply should email the principal at admin@appleby.school.nz, stating the child’s full name, date of birth, and current address. The deadline for receipt of applications for out of zone places is 12 noon on 26 June 2026.

If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot is required it will be held on 30 June. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three days of the ballot being held.
