Hi Waimea Plains players & parents, friends & supporters...
Firstly, Compliments of the Season to everyone :) We know, it's already March, where has the start of 2018 gone too...
Hopefully everybody had a safe and enjoyable festive period, children all made the most of their School Holidays and parents managed to get some time to relax and wind down... Players will now be back at school (or starting for some of the younger members of our club), and although summer sports and going to the beach are still at the forefront of everyone's recreational time, the club can now update you on the upcoming football season...
Due to the early nature of Easter and summer sports finishing prior, the winter football season is due to start for 9th Grade and above on: Saturday 7th April 2018 (yep, only one month away!), then playing again Saturday 14th April, before a break over the School Holidays (with younger grades starting after School Holidays on Saturday 5th May)!!!
Waimea Plains Football Club are therefore working towards getting everything ready for the season...

Registration Day:

With the new season close, it is important that we get players registered as soon as possible, to assist with sorting teams and providing information to coaches, so we therefore have our Registration Day coming up...
Where: Wakefield FC Clubrooms, Wakefield Domain
When: Sunday 11th March, Time: From 3pm to 5pm

Attached is this year’s Registration Form, with the Nelson Bays Football - Code Of Conduct on the back, it would be great if you can print out the Registration Form and complete all details. We are once again joining other clubs and NBF in promoting the "Keep It Positive" campaign and we continue to require a signature from parents/guardians to acknowledge their support of the campaign.
If you are unable to print out the Registration Form, there will be copies available on the Registration Day for you to come down and complete, if you are able to print out the Registration Form, you can complete and drop this in on Registration Day, scan and reply to the clubs e-mail or post to: c/- 22 Totara View Road, RD 1, Wakefield.
Prior to completing the Registration Forms and coming along to the clubrooms, if you are certain that your child(ren) are or aren’t going to be playing football this season, it would be appreciated if you could e-mail back with any details, to help those sorting teams be prepared.

Registration Fees:Waimea Plains Football Club continues to aim to keep the Registration Fees as low as possible, this year we are holding the fees as per last year which means they are still among the lowest in the region.

Coaches & Team Help:

Coaches from last year have been contacted, and there are plans to get teams / age groups together in the next couple of weeks, to have a kick-about and to start training for the new season. As they let the club know they have started these get-togethers, we will make sure everybody within that age group is aware they are underway, so that nobody misses any information, if unsure as to whether your grade has started training, please e-mail and we will endeavour to reply with any information that we can provide.

If you are interested in helping out a team this year, in any capacity, then please let the club know by e-mailing this address, we will inevitably need additional assistance due to the expected change of players, and with some of last year’s coaches moving on. We also wish to get more parents involved in all our teams, to help out with the running of your child’s team and to increase your understanding of the game.

We are again happy to send and fund as many people as possible to NBF run courses, including the Junior Level 0 & Level 1 Coaching Courses, and the Level 0 & Level 1 Referees Courses, both great for increasing your knowledge of the game and being able to assist, please let the club know if you are interested as soon as possible.

Senior Mens & Womens Teams:

On behalf of the Wakefield Senior Club, we would also like to advise that if any of our players parents or supporters are keen on playing football this year, then the Senior Club have started their pre-season trainings and are looking at also sorting teams for the new season. Last year they entered teams in the 1st, 3rd and 4th divisions of the local men's competitions, and this year they are hoping to add a team into the 2nd division, and along with much interest from female players are also looking at entering a Women's team. With a new deck to support teams on, a new playing kit and additional new playing equipment, now is the time to join in with the largest played sport in the world, whether with a semi-serious application or for the fun and social side of playing in teams. To find out more details, either e-mail to: WakefieldFootballclub@gmail.com or go to: www.wakefieldfc.nz

Wakefield Football Club - Home
