'Heroes and Villains of the Garden' Explore what's lurking in the natural habitat of the Queens Gardens. From the exotic crawly creatures hiding in their lush botanical world through to the soaring birds above Combining observational skills with imagination, students will draw, print, paint and make 3 – dimensional creatures

A special exhibition on Friday afternoon will showcase student work Introducing your tutors: Larisse Hall Full time light artist Larisse tutors juniors and adults at NMIT and at her studio in Stoke. Involved with various community projects including Light Nelson, Larisse initiated Nocturnal in 2016 with Lori Davis and The Brook Waimarama Sanctuary. Larissse's light sculpture 'Flirt' was long listed in the Aesthetica Art Prize, England (2015). Earlier this year, Larisse had work selected to exhibit digitally internationally, as a finalist in Art Venice Bienniale IV as a part of The Biennale Project. www.larissehallartist.com

Judith Ritchie Judith is a qualified art teacher, writer and artist specialising in screen printing. She regularly teaches Adult Education workshops both from her central city studio and at NMIT. Judith has recently spent a month in Samoa as Artist in Residence at the Tiapapata Arts Centre. There she taught art classes while producing a series of printed works on paper which are currently being exhibited in the Tiapapata Art Gallery
